zur Einladung des letzten Films der Gesänge aus Demmin kam folgender Text aus Lissabon.
One of the most fascinating moments of my work this year was to discover, watch and think about your new film Demminer Chants. It doesn't happen often nowadays to watch a film so contemporary and modern, reflecting about the world today, bringing all the weight of the wounds of the past. The idea of reconstructing, recreating the places of the past seems impossible, almost utopian, and that's why I appreciate the form you chose, almost brechtian, which highlights this impossibility. Your film is very modern, bringing the new form to digital cinema, because it is impossible to discuss the ideas, without finding an appropriate film form for them. (Needless to say, the film also brings a certain intimacy, almost an immersive feeling of visiting the great master at his house, sitting almost next to you, seeing your town). And the conversation about the culture and a possible reconciliation through it is the one I am thinking a lot about... (The context in which you bring Solzhenitsyn, I found a very important one). We talked a lot about your film with Dmitry Volchek, my colleague and friend, who wrote a very beautiful article about Demminer Gesänge.
