3 x Macintosh G4 / 1 GHz Computer
We would prefere Apple Mac G4 Computers for serveral reasons:
1. Apples new OS X has a build in Apache Web Server which can run the www.Syberberg
Web Site in a closed network for Centre Pompidou.
The visitors on the iMac Terminals can surf the "Intranet" without
a real connection to
the internet.
2. The G4 Computers are build for a 24/7 nonstop usage. Without hardware errors.
3. OSX System doesn't crash anymore. Crashed applications can remotely restart.
4. The hole Syberberg site was build on a Mac. So Mr. Syberberg is familiar
with this system and can remote control his installation for updates and news
from home.
Also the System Administrator is able to fix some problems over the internet.
5 x iMac (Terminals)
We would prefere iMacs 'cause of the above mentioned reasons.
Additionally the look is very futuristic and the computers are "top of
the art".
Every visitor will be attraced by these devices.
Beside they are not expensive if you consider the included 15" Flat Panal
Display.
The small model is good engnough for our needs.
1 x VideoBeamers + projection screen
That should be a rental item. Prices varies a lot.
Good Video Beamers are very expensive.

Installation Nossendorf for Centre Pompidou:
Comments:
Building: House
This is the main house where we install two webcams.
One webcam (no.1) is placed in the "Dinigroom" (groundfloor) with
a view to the wasteland of Nossendorf. The second webcam (no.2) is placed in
the "Child's Room" (first floor) and is picturing a empty place where
the former stork nest was placed.
Both cameras are connected to a computer (Server 1) which is controlling the
live streams.
The computer is connected to a 100-base-ethernet networkt which has access to
the internet via a router.
Building: Hall
Outside the hall we have a webcam (no.3) which is monitoring the Garage.
Additionally, there is a second moving webcam (no.5) close to the hall, which
has an overview of Nossendorf and the people arround it.
Both cameras are connected to a computer (Server 2) which is controlling the
live streams.
The computer is connected to a 100-base-ethernet networkt which has access to
the internet via a router.
Also there are 5 new iMac Terminals inside the hall where people can view the
live webcams from Centre Pompidou. An additional beamer shows on a large screen
selected live webcams from Centre Pompidou.
Building: Garage
A webcam (no.4) close to the garage is monitoring building the hall and the
area arround it.
this camera is also connected to a computer (Server 3) which is controlling
the live stream.
The computer is connectec to a 100 base-ethernet networkt which has access to
the internet via a router.
Konsum
This building is a small former supermarket which will be demolished soon.
